Course Overview

Certificate III & IV in Fitness

The Certificate III & IV in Fitness is essentially the gateway to a career in the fitness industry and provides you with ‘the ticket’ to employment and self-employment ie, Personal Trainer, group fitness instructor, bootcamp instructor, children’s activities instructor, cruise ship instructor, gym owner etc.

What sets our Cert III & IV programs apart from those offered by other institutions is our obvious focus on women’s issues.

Just in case you weren’t already aware, the Certificate III & IV program has zero curriculum towards pre and post-natal, menopause, menstrual cycle, hormones, body image, eating disorders etc etc.

When you complete your Cert III & IV with us you also receive our Masters Certificate in Female Fitness Programming which specialises in these exact women’s health topics that all other institutes don’t include in their programs.

This certifies you to obtain the insurance necessary to work with pre & post-natal clientele so you don’t need to go out afterwards and invest in further study (yes you read that right – the regular Certified PT isn’t accredited or insured to work with pregnant and post-partum clients).

The Cert III & IV program is primarily online study and includes some practical tasks that need to take place in a gym.

Depending upon where you’re located we have up to five ways for you to complete the tasks.

Our Cert III & IV program is internationally accredited through ICREPS – International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals and what this means is that anyone with our Cert III & IV can work in any of the following 13 member countries without having to do further study to become qualified within that country.

You can get off the plane and potentially begin work in these countries the next day.

USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, Spain, Poland, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

Just one final thing to differentiate between whether you want or need both Certificates as opposed to just the Certificate III.

Something we’ve noticed recently is that we’ve been receiving a lot of enquiries who are requesting the Cert III without the Cert IV.

After a while we learnt that many of these applicants had the idea that they just need the Cert III to take group classes as they had no interest in doing 1:1 PT.

The thing to realise in this situation is that yes, to work for a group training employer such as F45, crossfit, fit stop, PLC, Zadi, BFT etc, the Cert III only is sufficient as the employer takes care of the insurance for you.

However, if you wish to train groups as your own business in any shape or form (bootcamp, beach, garage, studio etc), you need the Cert IV as there’s no insurance available for a self-employed Cert III instructor.

If this wasn’t the case there would be no point in having a Cert IV.

Lastly, the Certificate III is the compulsory pre-requisite to being eligible to study the Certificate IV (you can’t just study the Cert IV if you don’t already have the Cert III).
